What's On YOUR Workdesk Wednesday #387

Happy WEDNESDAY everyone and Hello DESKERS and other WOYWW hoppers (the terms we use for the regulars who pop all over the world to peek into other people's spaces...grin)! Go HERE if you want to know more about this wonderful weekly adventure).  I apologize now for all the typos as my fingers fly across the board to get this out at the crazy hour of 5:30 am where I live... But I cannot miss sharing my desk today because just like Our Fearless Leader - Julia Dunnit over at the Stamping Ground - I have started my Christmas Cards!!! Grin  So here is my desk and then just a few photos of a few things I captured from my week:
Here are my two desks pushed together to create a huge space of 8 feet long and 7 feet wide and I still don't have one single inch of useable space available... Grin
The Christmas card creating has begun (grin) and YES this is my attempt at a shaker card!  Why start with something easy (like that lovely snowman stamp I acquired at a garage sale this summer) when you can be this frustrated? (Bigger Grin)  And do I even know anyone I love enough to give this card to when I am done?? (Biggest Grin)
Now this is a piece of my space that Haven't shared to often, it was the wall unit that used to house our TV but did not fit into the television space in our new home so I got it!  I it is usually a stamping station, but at Christmas the Die Cutting Machine gets this space.   Note:  All those binders above contain stamps
On the back wall you can see my attempt at staging the wonderful tags I made for my next STAMPlorations blog post for the 4th (so SHHHHHH, don't tell but I am giving you guys an early peek because Julia mentioned sharing Christmas Ideas)
How about creating a tag so beautiful that you can wrap your gift in brown paper and the recipient will hang the tag on their tree for years to come?  I was only supposed to make one or two of these but I was having so much fun that I ended up with 15 of them!  You will have to pop back for the tutorials... but some are Mixed Media style tags and some are Dollar Store Bling and they are all incredibly beautiful!
And now for the "other shots"
Here is a photo I snapped this week with my Phone (a Nokia) of the mist rising from the river valley and enveloping our yard... What a shot!
Another amazing phone shot... the full moon was covered by a cloud that was almost exactly the shape of the North American continent, including the big dip at the top of the Hudsons Bay and the long tail at the bottom of Southern Mexico... and the cloud was just translucent enough for the moon to shine through it and light it all up ... Seriously I took this with my PHONE!
And finally, I do believe, as the weather has gotten colder that my garden gnomes seem to have moved into my home... and I discovered that Canadian Garden Gnomes seem to like Red Wine! Grin

And finally I want to share these beautiful cards I made at a wonderful card class I attended last week.  There is an amazing woman who has been holding these monthly classes for the past 12 years and I think I have found my Tribe!  She is acutally coming over to play at my house TODAY so I have to fly!!! (but I am giddy with excitement about  a play date with a kindred spirit, can you tell?)
HAPPY WOYWW EVERYONE!

  1. Wow, you really went to town with those tags! 15! You're such an overachiever, LOL! I can concur that all 15 are incredibly beautiful! Loving the cards too - they're very distinguished. And that's a much better use for your TV cabinet. I enjoy watching the seasons change in your part of the world through your photos. Loving the misty shot! Good thing you brought the gnomes in - you don't want them to catch a chill, do you? Enjoy your play date - look forward to seeing what you've made! And thanks for popping in earlier! Your lovely comments always make my day ;)

  2. aw Lynne, I hope your play date was fab, you talk of it with such enthusiasm that I share your excitement. The Christmas tags are amazeballs...I may be borrowing your ideas, especially the really blinged ones, they will be a real treat! I think you may possible be winning when it comes to square footage...but I totally get that the more room you have, the less you can actually use!

  4. Oooh, I love those tags, especially the ones with lots of bling on (there's never too much sparkle, in my opinion!). Your craft room is amazing, I'm sure you'll have a wonderful play date with your friend. Isn't it wonderful when you find someone like that? I did with JUlia :-D

  5. Lynne, what an amazing craft space, you are one lucky crafter. And I love that bauble die, that card is going to be smashing.
Thanks for visiting my page and your nice comments, and Yes the stress of moving, actually all I want is not to have the fear of a phone call saying can you move next Tuesday. I want a fixed date in the future that I can work towards, not all this unknown stuff.
will update on WOYWW when I get anything new.

  7. Sorry for the delay in getting to your desk Lynne! I really appreciate you stopping by last week. I am hoping your mojo will rub off on me because I'm sitting here with none of my own for making Christmas cards...sigh..I'm usually almost done by now! In any case you asked about DNA, there are different places to order kits from and they all give basic results in addition to more information than I have figured out how to use yet. There are a lot of free places you can upload your results to and you get matches of other people that you don't even know that are cousins from 3 to 6th! It's been very interesting to say the least!
    Have a great day!
