Being GRATEFUL... An ATC Giveaway

Happy Day Everyone!  Today I am sharing some Artist's Trading Cards (ATCs) I made created around the theme GratitudeOne card (that I have not shown) will be winging its way around the globe to a new arty friend in New Zealand, but of course I could not make just one ATC (she says smiling).
So Gratitude was what I was feeling as I was creating these bits of art, gratitude for the life I live today in this beautiful country of Canada, and I felt the biggest desire to share these feelings.
So I have decided to Give Away all these bits of ART, which are permeated with my own loving, grateful and artistic energy - from me to YOU, my awesome followers!

And why would I like to do this?  Well one reason is because I am so very grateful for the amazing life I am living today.  Another reason is because I want to share my joy in art with everyone.
But the biggest reason is because I want to do something to help spread some joy and love and acceptance through our world.

Because it HAS to start somewhere.  Because I believe one person CAN make a difference. Because I believe that each individual act of love, no matter how small, will be added to the cosmic sand heap and will grown exponentially.
Remember I come from the country that birthed Terry Fox, so I truly believe "One Person CAN make a difference."  And if this idea resonates with you please do JOIN IN! Any way, any how... Smile.
So I hope you will leave me a comment and help me to hopefully starting a wave of artistic love that will maybe one day sweep the globe...

If you would like one of these miniature pieces of my art just leave me a comment on this post and on Tuesday, November 29th I will draw six names from all the comments left and announce the winners on Wednesday November 30th.  Winners will then send me their addresses so I can mail off these tiny little ambassadors of gratitude and love and hope for a joyful future across the globe.

Now if you are interested in our little group of ATC swappers, we are a private facebook group started up in 2016 through the Documented Life Project by the loveliest of people, Ms. Dawn Murdock.  If you would like to play with all of us go HERE and ask to join:

So that's it today! Thanks for popping in today to see what I am up to and if you feel the desire to share this particular post with anyone I would be ever so GRATEFUL!... Smile

Because I Am The BEST Sister-In-Law In The World!

My Brother-in-law (BIL) had a birthday. I made him a card.  I like my BIL ... he is funny and looks older than me (both good qualities).

This year, after being in this family for 20 years, the hubby and I moved to my BIL's hometown so we get to "hang" now.
I like him so much I spent one entire day creating this mini masterpiece.

So doesn't that make me the BEST Sister-in-Law in the world? Grin.
Of course I am linking up this card to Viva Las Vegas Stamps' October Inspiration Challenge where they want us to use Mary Vogel Lozinak stamps and stars and stuff.  I think my BIL is a STAR...grin (and I guess so am I!)
Now for those of you that want to know I created this card using my new Peerless watercolors to paint my stamped images from  Viva Las Vegas Stamps, all created by Mary Vogel Lozinak  and I made my own paper using Ranger Distress inks and a set of background stamps from Glitz - "Distressing backgrounds" to create the background.  The "Queen of the Universe" stamp is a little gem from the Unity Stamp Company.
So that's it for today... thanks for popping in to visit and please do leave me a comment if you enjoyed today's funny little post.

The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Challenge #65 - "I" is for Inappropriate

Happy Summer Saturday Everyone!  Today is a pretty special day for us the design team Sisters over at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers because we all have been waiting since January for this particular challenge! Today Edna is going Waaaay outside her box for the "I" is for Inappropriate challenge!
Now for those of you who don't know, at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers (previously the Drunken Stampers) we are all about "How sarcastically funny can you be without going over the line?"  But for this challenge we are Going Over The Line! Grin, and some of us are going waaaay over... Here is the mixed-media, tri-fold card I created and a few of the steps along the way... Enjoy!!!

Ha!Ha!Ha!... Did I make you smile? Did I make you Laugh? (Really! What were you THINKING?! Grin)  You should have seen my hubby face when I showed him this card.  At first he was VERY shocked and after reading the first three panels he stopped and looked at  me and said "What kind of card IS this?!" and then he got to the last panel and actually burst out laughing - and isn't that the point? Now for those of you that are interested the following are some photos about my process:
I started with a strip of 12"x6" cardstock which I scored at 4" and 8" to create three 4-inch panels
I applied bits of pages from my 1902 Dictionary... the paper is Amazing... using my Liquitex glossy medium - it is a varnish but has amazing adhesive qualities and does not make my 100 year-old paper wet.  Also, the glossiness is very subtle and accepts paints, sprays and inks very nicely.
and then I really went over the top and added some images from my precious 1901 Eaton's Catalogue - images from the sewing section of course - Grin.
I found this catalogue in a second hand store on Vancouver Island and it is one of my most prized mixed-media possessions.  I have a hard time making myself use it because the images are so divine - but I keep thinking, "If I use that page it is Gone!" so it's hard to make myself use it all.
Next I rubbed in some color using my Mister Huey's sprays. I love the vibrancy of the colors plus they stain the paper really well and don't wash away as easily as some of the other sprays.
You just spray on and rub off. And then for a bit of muted sparkle I rubbed on some gold paint around the edges of each panel...
I used my "Stamping on Tissue Technique" (Go HERE for more details on that) and my typerwriter alpha stamps to add my words, and the images are a Unity Itty Bitty stamp called "Three Stick Chicks"...
And finallly, to make the words Pop, I faded the background using white gesso with a dry brush and I used a black pen to doodle and scribble all over the panels until my little inner voice said I was done.

This is going to be a Birthday card for someone who is having a really BIG Number birthday... Because I used 100 year-old paper and because that saying is just so appropriate. And then the image of that old lady lighting her ciggy from her 100th birthday cake candles?! Seriously Perfect! (Oh Yeah, these images are both stamps from Viva Las Vegas Stamps "Curler Lady Smoking" )
So you really must pop over to our blog today to see all the Awesome-ly, Over-the-Line, Inappropriate cards created by my Sisters this week because THIS is why we all joined! Grin And why not join in? Go break out your inappropriate stamps - You know the ones - you Love what it says but if you used it WHO could you give that card to?!  You have until Friday, August 19th at midnight to link up your "I" is for Inappropriate project... Come Play!

AS always, thank you for popping in to see what I am up to and Please DO leave me a comment if you like what you see - I read every single one!

The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers - "F" is for FUGLY!

Hello and happy Saturday Blog Land Peeps!  Today I am playing with the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers and Edna is challenging us to make something Hideous in her "F" is for FUGLY Challenge #59.

Now I don't know about you but I just cannot make something ugly (well not on purpose anyway) so I was stumped for bit for this one, but then I remembered the two stamps I had just thrown away and which were STILL in the garbage.  Yes, for the first time EVER I threw something away and the Universe made me go and get it out of the garbage - so What do YOU think that means? - grin  So here's the story:  I Love my Viva Las Vegas stamps and I almost always order a "plate", which is a collection of random images on an 8"x10" piece of rubber, and you always get something you love, something you like and then one or two "not your favorites".  But in this last order I got two stamps I thought were so hideous that I threw them away! My hand hesitated over the garbage bag for an entire minute as my brain tried to find some reason to keep them, but I couldn't, so I dropped them in (and felt quite proud of myself at the time) until not even 24 hours later I was digging them out again!

And to make it even more interesting... I put her butt on a Wobble and it moves! Giggle
And the even Crazy-er thing is that when I was finished making these two cards my hubby LOVED them! NO seriously, the man who doesn't notice Anything I make and who's opinion - when solicited - is Always "That's really nice, Dear." laughed and laughed and told me he would pay money for these cards - Seriously?!?

More Wobble Action!
So of course I am linking these images up to the Viva Las Vegas May Challenge which is to create something Creepy, Weird. Different and/or Unique... I think I got those covered, don't you?
Here is what I stamped on the inside of this particular card - take it anyway you like!
So do pop on over to the Sisterhood to see what my team mates created and do consider joining in this challenge - you have until 11:59 pm May 27th to link up your FUGLY project - and Hey... That's my Birthday!

As aways, thanks for popping in to see what I am up to and please do leave me a comment if you like what you are seeing!

"J" is for JOKE! It's Challenge #56 for the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers

Well it feels like it's been forever since I played with the "Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers" and this week Enda Says: "J is for JOKE"... but you had better make it a Good ONE 'cuz she is hard to impress - can you see how she is already rolling her eyes? Grin
For this Challenge I struggled for two entire days to create my first card, which is kind of cute but I wasn't really feeling it...
When all of a sudden inspiration hit me and this second card came together in minutes...

Seriously?!  Sigh... But sometimes you just can't control the artistic process, you just Ride The Waves... Grin!
All of these stamps are from Viva Las Vegas Stamps, and it is fitting that I am using them for the first time here as it is because it was one of my Sisters that hooked me up and now I am absolutely ADDICTED to their stuff!  And visiting their store on Las Vegas is now One of my bucket list items!
So pop on over to the Sisterhood Blog to see what the rest of the gang created and do please consider joining in all the fun.  You have until April 15th to create something Joke-y (them snarky and sarcastic the better!) and link it up for a chance to be the Queen of Snark or one of her Princesses!

As Always, Thanks for popping in to see what I am up to and please do leave me a comment if you like what you are seeing!
Cheers
