Some Inspiring Words All Wrapped Up In A Mini Album Of Tags...

Hello Sweet Friends and Guess What? It's already halfway through January in 2016 and if all has gone as planned I am now in my new "old house" in Creston, British Columbia, Canada having moved 550 kms (342 miles) over Christmas and I am probably trying to find stuff in one of the 150 boxes that contain all my Arty, Crafty goodies... Grin!  This is a pre-scheduled post as I won't have a working studio for a while and today is my first post for the month of January for the Susan K. Weckesser design team.  This month our theme over at the My Sweet Earth blog is Tags of Love... and Susan shared this quote with us by Susan Polis Schutz: (which I think describes me Perfectly!! Smile)
"Let us dance in the sun wearing wild flowers in our hair."

So with that in mind, with a heart overflowing with gratitude and joy for all that is happening in my life these days I decided to create these tags featuring some of my favorite photos of ME over the past 16 years along with quotes that express some of my personal philosophy of living - and then I tied it all together with a velvet ribbon, Swoon!
Oh, and one more thing... I decided to keep this project simple only using paper, pens, ink and fussy cutting. This entire Album features Susan K. Weckesser's "Live in Color" paper line, Ranger Stickles and Liquid Pearl for accenting and embellishing.  I also used a range of inspirational quote stamps from Ranger by Tim Holtz and Dyan Reaveley.  So Enjoy these photos of me over the past 16 years and don't forget to leave me a comment to tell me what you think of it all!
I decided to use this photo as my cover because I LOVE to laugh... and here I am laughing because I am on a boat and the wind caught my hat and I am actually stangling, but my daughter snapped this photo before she realized I was choking... Grin
This Quote above expresses PERFECTLY how I strive to live my life every day...
Grandsons... Swoon... Need I say more?
The LOVE of my Life... and yup... We're in Mexico and we're RED

Oh how I LOVE the Ocean, Surf, Waves... Grin

I am Crazy Afraid of Heights and I am Para Sailing!! Gulp "Feel the Fear and do it ANYWAY!"
I remember when I thought I Looked Horrible in this photo, now I would LOVE to look this good!  So that's the secret ladies, let them take your picture but don't look at it for at least five years! (or 15)

Standing beside our creek on our 7 acre piece of land on Cape Breton Island, Nova Scortia on the OTHER Side of Canada - 5,555 Kms Away... Just saying "our creek" gives me shivers...ONE DAY BABY!
Have I mentioned how much I love FOOD in all it's forms? Giggle I had to cook him before I ate him and it wasn't hard at all... Laughing here
My first Cruise and my first all female scrapbooking Vacation... me and 71 other women... they are still recovering, Grin

Real Women have CURVES... and I am embracing those curves... yeah Baby!  Live OUT LOUD!

Thanks for popping in to see what I am up to today... leave me some blog loving in the form of a comment!

This is what I came up with It's a MatchBook Album and I absolutely LOVE it!  It is sooo ME... Grin.  I used only my Dyan Reaveley Dylusions stamps, stamped with Archival Ink onto water color paper and painted with my watercolors. I used lots of ModPodge as both an adhesive and sealer and a black waterproof marker to doodle around my pages.  I had a lot of fun with the cover using gesso and a plastic fork to create some texture, and acrylic paint in two colors and some bubble wrap to create some interest.

I think I am going to keep it in the bathroom for guests to read (Bigger Grin).... So without Further ado.. here it IS:

So that's It Now PLEASE click on over to the Smeared and Smudged forum; Become a Member and VOTE!  Voting is open until Friday, April 12th at midnight!

BE Where you ARE.... Otherwise you will MISS your life!

On this first day of 2013 I would like to share with you a little tradition that has developed in our home that has made a huge difference in my life and had an even bigger impact on my relationship with my life mate...

It’s kinda become a tradition in our home that on the morning of the last day of the year my partner and I curl up on the couch with a cup of coffee each and spend an hour reflecting upon the past year.  We review all our accomplishments, remember the good times, and then move on.  Sometimes we are in perfect sync and agree and laugh and enjoy the memories and sometimes not so much (grin) and we disagree and end up arguing like every other couple out there (Bigger grin) but we always make up by New Year’s Day morning when we sit down together to negotiate (yes, NEGOTIATE!) our list of priorities for the coming 12 months.   We NEVER make resolutions, we just jot down a list of five things we would like to accomplish inside the house and five more outside the house and number them from most important to “if we can get to it” and then we each list one thing we are going to work on in our relationship and that’s it.

It has been a pattern that we developed one New Year’s weekend when we were going through a bumpy patch and it stuck… it has been amazingly effective because it does not need to be revisited through the year But it has allowed us to start every year on the same page with a basic plan for the direction we would LIKE to head out.

And I am always surprised by how much we actually get done on our list without very much effort and WAY LESS arguing!  Life happens, priorities change, but you know I have found that it is a lot easier to negotiate the detours on your life path when you actually HAVE a path.

 Happy New Year to everyone!
