Crafty Catz Guest Designer

Hello and Happy Day everyone! Today I am sharing my last post as the Guest Designer for the month of July over at Crafty Catz Weekly Challenges, where it's always Anything Goes with an optional twist.  This week for Challenge #381 the optional twist is "Not a Card" and I decided to share with you some "Mail Art", something that is taking North America by storm these days.
In today's world it is such a treat to receive something by old fashioned mail so why not create even more of a gift by decorating the envelope that houses that mail.  When the recipient pulls it out of the mail box it is ALREADY a Gift and now they get to go home and open it!
This particular envelope will be housing these two Artist's Trading Cards (ATC's) I am swapping with another artist from the United States so I wanted to create something deliciously eye-catching and I think I did!  Since I always seem to be rushing to get something into the mail, I have developed a method of creating Mail Art that takes only a few minutes and I am going to share it with you now.

First I select one background stamps, one "feature" stamp and one sentiment stamp to use.  I lay down some washi tape to mask off the area where the address is to go - remember the post office may not deliver your letter if they cannot easily read the address.
I use my Kaleidoscope Ink pad (this one is called Melon Melody) and a brayer to quickly add some color to the envelope, front and back and then I stamp the background stamp all over the front and back in either a light colored ink or my favorite sepia brown as I did here.  I always use  Archival ink because it is waterproof, that way if the envelope gets wet the ink will not run.

I added some stamped butterflies to the front and back for a focal point and to make this envelope feel extra Summer-y.  And don't forget the back - I usually add some sort of sentiment to the back for a little extra something. (Note: stamping words on the front of your envelope is not a good idea as they may confuse the post office.) And I always add some washi tape to the back of envelope to make sure it does not come open before delivery and because it looks pretty.

That's it!  This particular envelope was ready to go in under 10 minutes and well worth the little bit of extra time.

So please do consider joining us and linking up your creation over at Crafty Catz for this week's Challenge #381 - Anything Goes with an optional twist of Not A Card.  You have until Noon on Thursday, August 3rd and there is always a Winner and the design teams top three picks.

As always, Thank You for poping in today to see what I am up to and I hope you enjoyed my little mail art tutorial today and all the other projects I created for Crafty Catz this month.  And please do leave me a comment if you like what you are seeing!

It's PARTY TIME Over at Crafty Catz!

Hello everyone... I am honored to have been selected to be the  Guest Designer over at Crafty Catz Weekly Challenge Blog for the month of July and today for my third challenge, Challenge #380, I am  sharing this Super Cute shaker card where I am using pre-colored images from Melon Headz, (our sponsor for this challenge).

When I saw the party group image I knew immediately that I wanted to use it in a shaker card.

I really enjoyed playing with these pre-colored images because all I had to do was print them off, cut them out and assemble them in a pleasing way.
There were so many of these cute little ones to choose from I also added one to the inside of the card.

So please join us for this week's challenge over at Crafty Catz where the winner will get to choose one bundle of images of their choice from Melon HeadzThis week's Challenge #380 is Anything Goes with the optional twist of a Party theme and you have until Thursday, July 27th to link up over at the Crafty Catz Weekly Challenge blog.

As always, thank you for popping in to see what I am up to today, and please do leave me a comment if you like what you see!

Creating Some Summer Laughter Over At Crafty Catz

Happy Friday everyone! I am here today sharing my creation for Crafty Catz, where I am honored to be their Guest Designer for the month of July.
The theme for this Challenge #379 is "Ice Cream" and I am using a digital stamp (digi) from this weeks' sponsor:  BUGABOO Digi Stamps (which is a Canadian company, yeaaaah!)  A digi is a digital file that I purchase from an on-line store and can download immediately after paying. I LOVE digital stamps because they are cheaper than regular stamps, I get them Right Away (no waiting), I can size them to any size I like and I store them on my computer and do not have to try and find room in the "bursting-at-the-seams" stamp section of my studio!
I used my Copic markers to color this image and mounted it using foam tape to give it more dimension. A layer of Ranger's Stickles and Glossy Accents finished it off.  And then I went searching for just the right saying to match with the stamp, one involving Ice Cream.  I think I Nailed It - don't you?
So pop on over to the Crafty Catz blog to see what the other members of the design team created and think about linking up your Ice Cream-inspired project.  You have until Thursday, July 20th to join in and there are Prizes to be won!  For this challenge the winner receives four digital stamps of your choice from Bugaboo!
Thank you for popping in to see what I am up to and please do leave me a comment if you like what you see!

I Am The Guest Designer Over At Crafty Catz This Month!

Hello Everyone! Today I am so excited to share that I was chosen to be the Guest Designer for the month of July over at Crafty Catz, a weekly card challenge blog out of the UK.  So every Friday for the next four weeks I will be sharing a card with you that I created for the latest Crafty Catz challenge and I hope you will play along!

This week for Challenge #378 it is Anything Goes with an Optional Twist of Add Some Lace.  I created this sweet and uplifting card using a digital stamp from DOODLE DIGITAL, this week's sponsor.
I used my Copic markers to color the image and then I cut her out and mounted her on my embossed card base using foam tape.  The sentiment is another of my favorite Unity stamps called Enjoy, Explore, Believe, and I love it because it is so uplifting!
I added a pattern in white gel pen to her sweater added some pearls for buttons because every girl needs a little bit of bling!  And of course, the final touch for me is always a bit of Ranger's Glossy Accents (especially on her eyes to make them shine) and Ranger's Stickles in Frosted Lace on her hat to give it a bit of a blue jean-y feel.   So that's it for today... I hope you enjoyed my sweet little card creation for this the Crafty Catz Challenge #378 and please do pop on over to the Crafty Catz blog to see what the rest of team created and you have until July 12th to link up your own creation if you would like to join in, which I hope you do!
