Well it's been almost a year since I've been able to visit Ms. Julia Dunnit over at the Stamping Ground for What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday (WOYWW), but I know I am truly established in our new home because HERE I AM again ready to play! Grin
I was trying to pick just one photo to post today but the new studio space is so fantastic and So BIG and SO CLEAN this morning... (we had family over last night so I had to tidy up) that I am just going to post all of them. Bigger Grin
And to share a epiphany I experienced last night.
In preparation for the big family visit I finally opened the box where all my finished canvases have been packed away since last September and I was completely overwhelmed with a) how many there were, b) how amazing they were and c) how much I had progressed in my arty, mixed-media journey in just one year.
I know that we are our own worst critics, but I did not realize just how powerful my inner critic had become until I opened this box and was AMAZED by the jewels I found inside.
I actually allowed myself to Feel Good about my own body of work and I am inspired to go make more messy, happy goodness using paper and paste and paint and ink.
As always, Thanks for popping in to see what I am up to today, and if you liked visiting my workdesk today you can pop on over the Stamping Ground blog today and visit other work desks from all around world!

DeleteBeautiful art Lynn, your passion is evident!
ReplyDeleteAwwww thanks so much Sharon... I never put a word to my "NEED to create" before and the word "passion" fits so perfectly
DeleteWe are our own worse critics. It's wonderful when we can come back later with a fresh look and really appreciate what a great job you've done and think 'wow. I did good!'
ReplyDeleteHave a great day.

DeleteOooooooohhhhhhhh..... your studio is beeeeeeeuuuuuaatifullll!!! Wonderful having so much space ♥ and your artwork is amazing. I bet it was like your birthday & Christmas at once opening up the boxes with your treasures.
ReplyDelete♥ hugs, MiSchra
P.S. I would love to be your neighbor and come on over for a cup of coffee.... or a bit of creatiing (with or without coffee ;-) ♥
Just seeing that gorgeous array of mixed media color makes me beam with happiness right alongside you! How fun to have your studio all set up and be bringing out your artwork! Thank you so much for the sweet comment - it made my day!
ReplyDeleteAaaaw... Geee Thanks... (Blushing)
DeleteThat is an amazing body of work Lynne :) Just beautiful color filled goodness! I think know how you felt..I am chronically dissatisfied with whatever I make. It doesn't come out as I planned...like..EVER. Then later I see it after putting it away somewhere in disgust and I am like..hey that is actually pretty dang good. I guess if I didn't go through this process then I would have the most inflated ego in the world LOL
ReplyDeleteOh Shel, how you make me LAUGH! Grin Aren't we just our OWN WORST CRITICS! The image in my head always seems to be better than my first result, so I have started walking away and going back in the next day to add more layers and I am LOVING my new results. I think we are giving up on ourselves waaaay too soon! Thanks YOU for the lovely comment... I find it so empowering when someone whose work I admire, admires mine! (((hugs)))
DeleteWow what a beautiful, large space you have! Your art looks wonderful.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back

DeleteWow, Lynne! You have been a busy lady. I can't wait to have an art room again. I can do it. Only two more years of crafting in the bedroom. Your work is fantastic. I'm glad that you have put it all on display.
ReplyDeleteOh Lee, How I hope that One DAY we can sit together in the same room (My ROOM?), making stuff, drinking wine/beer and snorting with laughter... I am putting this on my Bucket LIST!!!
DeleteLynne, I love the mixed media canvas' and would be proud to hang one in my home. They are great and how I am striving to do my mixed media.
