Just Because I Haven't "Seen" You In A While...

Feast or Famine, that's Me!  No posts for a week or two and then posts every day and sometimes twice a day?? Wish I could say that this is not typical, but I would be lying... (imagine me saying that with a Huge Smile on my face!).  Sooooo, any how... I am just popping to share this incredibly cute card I created for the latest color challenge over at Catch The Bug Challenge Blog featuring Bugaboo Stamps.
This Giraffe digital stamp that I ordered from Bugaboo in July just makes me happy. (Don't know why and it really doesn't matter because she just Does!)  This is a new-to-me company and not only do I love their stamps, I also discovered that this little enterprise is Canadian, created by Jodie Mackrell from Saskatchewan and featuring her art work.  How COOL is that?

I colored this image using my Copic markers, twice, because I wanted to pop her out of the frame.  The centre image is really supposed to be looking down from the top of the frame, but hey... the art brain wants what the art brain wants!  (grin)

And finally I thought I would share this page from my "stamp bible", a little book I started when I first began coloring images with my Copics and of course I could never remember what colors I had used when I created something I really liked. So now, when I am coloring an image I really like for the first time, I color two and paste one in here listing all the colors I used.  Plus, coloring it twice is practicing the shading and programing my hand to do it right!  This little book has saved me many times when I have had to get something out quickly and is totally worth the extra time to do it.

So I am linking up this sweet little card to this week's Color Challenge over at Bugaboo Stamps ... wish me luck!

Wishing You A Beautiful Day!

Sometimes I think life should be simple.  In this complicated time of crazy weather patterns, unusually violent natural disasters and unsettling politics all over the world, sometimes it's a simple, everyday thing that makes me stop and remember that although I have no control over these big world events, it is my choice as to how I feel every day.

And sometimes it's something as simple as a bowl of sliced strawberries sprinkled with a teaspoon of sugar that makes me remember Life Is Still Sweet...and I Choose Happy.

So from me to you, in the kindest, sweetest way... I am wishing YOU a Beautiful Day...

I am blogging along with Effy Wild all this month... check it out!

Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers - "C" is for Caffeine

Good Morning Blogland Peeps! Have you had your Coffee yet? (Or you favorite form of Caffeine?), because today the challenge over at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers is "C" is for Caffeine!
Now I not only LOVE my morning coffee, I NEED my morning coffee - it allows me to function at a normal, polite, socially-acceptable level, but only if it is full of sugar, which helps to make me EXTRA sweet and offset any grumpiness - Smile.  So this challenge really resonated with me when I created this card:

I decided to use this wonderful wee mouse from my House Mouse Stamp collection, and the phrase "Be The Mouse" was running through my head like a mantra the entire time I was coloring him with my Copic Markers. I think my absolute LOVE of coffee came through... don't you?  The coffee cup is from a 2002 Stampin' Up set that was given to me when someone cleaned out their craft room, and the saying is one from Unity Stamps, so this card is a true compilation of stamping products!

So come on over to the Sisterhood to see what my team mates have created, and why not think about joining in?  You have until midnight on Friday, September 16th to link up your caffeine-related project.  We always select a Queen and Princess of Snark and someone is offered a Guest-Designer position for every challenge!

As Always, thanks for popping in today to see what I am up and please do leave me a comment if you like what you see!

It's a STAMPlorations REVEAL - The Color Blooms Coloring Book for Card Makers and Scrapbookers

Happy Day everyone... And WELCOME To the STAMPlorations Blog Hop and Linky Party for the Color Blooms: The Coloring Book For Cardmakers, Krafters and Mixed Media Artists!!!
This book is different from other coloring books because it was designed so that the completed coloring pages can be turned into cards or scrapbook layouts or any number of creative projects.

Because if you are like me, you pour your artistic soul into creating an amazing page, and then what?  Most of us just turn the page, leaving it in the book hidden from view. Well let me show you what I did with my finished page, I created these four amazing items!

Now about my processI selected a page that had four similar panels...

and used my Copic markers, choosing four light-to-dark colors in the yellow to orange family group.  I randomly added strokes of color to the petals trying not to over think the process or worry about perfection because, after all, it IS the background.  I chose a complimentary color for the background and then added a bit of shadow around the flowers to make them pop off the page...

When I was finished coloring I cut out each piece and ran them through my Xyron Creative Station 5" Sticker Maker

and mounted them on card stock to  create these four backgrounds - all from just one page!
And as I was sticking them down I realized that these backgrounds paired perfectly with my new STAMPlorations The Birds and The Blooms stamp so I stamped a few images and used my brand new Prismacolor Scholar pencil crayons to color them in.  The soft leads and vibrant pigments in these pencils layer and blend colors so beautifully that I liked them even better than my Copic markers.

So come check out the blog hop and linky party we are having over at STAMPlorations HERE where you can check out what some of the other design team created with their pages and where you can access a free,  down-loadable coloring page for you to color and create with and link up for more chances at prizes!!

The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Challenge #66 - "H" is for Hounds

Happy daaay Everyone... today over at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers our challenge is "H" is for HOUNDS... now who doesn't love a good dog card?  But it turns out that in my collection of hundreds of stamps I do not have a good a dog stamp - REALLY?! So what does this Girl do?  Well, she searches on-line for a free Dog digi (digital stamp).
And not only do I find a FREE digi that is Exactly What I Need... but I also find a wonderful, new-to-me stamp store  called Tiddly Inks.  I downloaded ALL the Tiddly Inks free digital stamps offered and even spent a whopping $4.01 to buy a few more.  I think I may be going back... Grin... And here is  my card:

 Wait for it....
Ha!ha!ha!... This is my very favorite Groucho Marxx quote... Giggle.

I fell in love with this wee doggy digi, which I colored with my Copic markers and then added furry details with my brand new Prismacolor Pencil Crayons.  (I purchased this 60-crayon set on-line from Amazon.ca for only $20 and the colors are beautiful and the soft leads blend as well as the expensive set - Swoon).

These pencils layed down color so beautifully that I filled in my books using only these crayons.  Of course I fussy cut out both the books and the Doggy and used foam pop dots to mount them onto a card base, and I enhanced the sparkle in his eye with Some Close To My Heart Liquid Glass.

So why not join us this week over at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers?  You  have until midnight, September 2nd to link up your doggie-related project for a chance to be selected as the Queen of Snark or one of her Princesses... Blog Candy is to be had!
As always, thanks for popping by to see what I am up to, and please do leave me a comment if you like what you see!
