WOYWW #296 (What's on YOUR Workdesk Wednesday)

Hello PEEPS! I'm getting in just under the wire on the Stamping Ground's "What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday" because I slept until 10:00AM! But I was up working in my studio until 3:30AM so I guess I can be forgiven... I knew it was time to go to bed when I wore a Hole right through my 140lbs watercolor paper! (grin)
Can you see the hole?  and don't you just LOVE those dragonflys?  These are some "cards of comfort" I created for some loved ones in my life who are going through a rough time.
And here is a photo of my crazy MESS... when I am "in the art zone" like I was last night, I just keep pushing stuff off to the side to make room for what I am working on, and I do this until stuff starts falling onto the floor, and even then I just push it out of my way... (I'm Laughing OUT LOUD right now as I type this.  If I was my own Child I'd probably ground me, or at least I'd be getting "the LECTURE"! (giggle)

Now back in the fall I said I would share my completed Prima Doll Tags with you... and I haven't because they're still not finished! ....

I have an appointment this month with the owner of this wonderful little store in our area which carries the original art of about 40 artists, and she wants to see some of my stuff... but I keep looking at my doll tags and thinking... Oh No, nobody would want to buy these! And so I am ROAD BLOCKING myself and not allowing my inner artist to finish them.  We really ARE our own worst Critics!

Thanks for popping by today to see my mess! and Please do go visit The Stamping Ground to see what other BRAVE people all over the world are sharing!
Cheers

  1. You are completely wrong about your art doll tags--people would totally buy them. They are neat looking, unique and handmade! I love the bird's eye view of your mess and the story of how you just push it off and out of the way. I'd ground me too if I were you. I pile stuff around my desk when I'm in the zone and then almost kill myself tripping over it later. Not a good thing. The dragonflies are totally wonderful--dimensional and shiny. Very cool. Thanks for the visit earlier. happy crafting! Judy #79

  2. You're so much fun Lynne, LOL! How did you manage to wear a hole in the card, by scrubbing, hehe? I do the pushing out of the way thing too. I want a HUGE desk! Your desk is pretty big to start with. Now go on, finish those cards - they're gorgeous already! I remember seeing them back in the fall. I'm sure they will be popular! 3. If there were a sign over your desk it would read ARTIST AT WORK DO NOT DISTURB lol. Love your chaotic (to my eye) work desk, but everything just where you need it I'm sure. Those Dragonflies are just gorgeous as are your Prima doll tags, you must finish them and allow them to be purchased by art and craft lovers who would be happy to own one for themselves. 6. Seriously from this angle here you probably wouldn't be able to keep up supply demand as they would be walking out the door so fast. Accept it girl you have talent. Live the desk covered in surpluses you really were I'm the zone. Happy WOYWW

  7. I think people would buy your doll tags too! They are gorgeous! If you ever fancy swapping any of them, it would inspire me to get my doll stamps out :) I think I came by the other day, but I'll say it again ... those dragonflies are absolutely stunning!!
Thanks for stopping by the other day. I'm later than ever this week :)

  8. GET THOSE TAGS FINISHED! And gag your inner critic - they are fabulous and also you should make some more of your dragonfly cards. They are beautiful as is the idea behind them - people would definitely buy those for the people in THEIR lives that need a little love.

You made me laugh with the mental image of your desk sweeping naughtiness too :)

  10. Love your tags, but then I am a fan of your bright colours and also Prima Dolls LOL. I have quite a few and they are sorely neglected since I found unity. Must dig them out and make things. I think these will sell fast once you are ready to let them go. Hugz
