Word from my Heart to my Life-Mate...

This week the Papercraft Party Challenge at Handmade Harbour is to create something Bright and Happy and I am sharing this very personal card I made for my husband for Valentines Day along with this very personal post about how my feelings for him:

I am married to a man I have been with for 16 years now... he is more than my husband, he is my help-mate, my friend, my partner-in-life, my soul-mate. We are not 'joined-at-the- hip", but rather we are unique and separate people who live our lives as individuals, but his is the opinion that matters most to me and he is the one I always go to when I want to know the undiluted truth about anything (especially my behavior) because he NEVER lies.  He is the complete opposite of me and he completes me.  Even when he is making me CRAZY with all his conservative-ness and Male-ness and "Not-Talking-ness" I am a better person when I am with him...
This year we made the decision to sell the beautiful acreage we have created together over the past 13 years and it was and IS hard... But in the midst of all the turmoil of decision making I realized that for me HOME is where HE is ... So here is my Valentine to YOU my husband, partner, life-mate and soul-mate, with these words from my heart to yours ...
Now, for those of you who want to know I used the Handmade Harbour "Vintage Caravan" digital stamp and I painted the background of the caravan using my gelatos as paint (color them onto a craft mat and add water to make paint) and then I doodled with my gel pens to add some texture.

I also added some pops of color with my new Silks, they look like paint but they are really an acrylic glaze and it dries to look like enameled metal.  I cut out my trailer (caravan), including cutting out the window glass, so that it created some amazing dimension when I added the foam pop dots.

The card background was created by using a brayer (mini-roller) with my new Kaleidascope inkpad, picking up the ink with the brayer and rolling it over a piece of glossy card paper... quick, bright and Beeeautiful!  The tree is one of my many, many Unity Stamps that I fussy cut after stamping it onto another piece of brayer-inked glossy paper.
That's it for now... Thanks for stopping by to see what I did today... and PLEASE, leave a comment if you like what you see (smile)
