Welcome to the third challenge of this brand new scrapbooking challenge site that is ALL ABOUT YOU! The idea is to get you out from behind that camera and to put you into some of those beautiful pages that you create for your family... Here is this week's challenge:
All You Need is Love! {Twist: Color Combo}
Challenge: Scrap about someone you love! {Remember to include YOU in the photo} AND Use THIS color combo:
Here is the layout I made... Me and the hubby on a beach in Mexico at sunset
You know, although I scrapbooked about this vacation this particular photo stayed in the box... I didn't really love how I looked... my arms look fat, my face looks fat, my hair looks flat on top (get the picture) But something Lynn posted on the Challenge YOUrself site resonated with me... that it's NOT about what WE think we look like, it's about how our family and loved ones see us at that particular moment in time... and I know my loved ones don't seem to see me through the same critical eyes I seem to see myself with...
Now when I look at this photo what I see is the love in my husband's eyes as he wraps his arms around me on a Mexican beach at sunset...
And of course the memories of that moment...
Happy Sigh

ReplyDeleteYou used the color palate perfectly. So glad to have you on the team!
Beautiful picture and layout! Love it!
ReplyDeleteI think that's a beautiful picture. You are totally right though, we are our own worst critics...great picture and great layout!
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful page, Lynne! I absolutely love the photo of the 2 of you! Yes, I love that you wrote about how it is not about what we think about our own photos, but what others do. You are SO RIGHT!!!! I really like how you scrapped this photo and the story behind it. I can't tell you how much I am enjoying working with you at Challenge YOUrself, too! ♥
ReplyDeleteI got tears in my eyes reading your post. I know what you mean, but I think you nailed it on the head. What I see when I look at this photo/layout is a loving couple. Thank you so much for sharing your design with us over at PoP. Monica, DT

Love your take on our LOVE theme this month at the Path of Positivity Challenge Blog. Thanks for playing this month-it's a great layout and now I'll have to visit the Challenge YOUrself blog! They speak the truth
ReplyDeleteWow Lynne. What you have said is so very true. We all tend to see ourselves so critically. Especially those of us who don't happen to look like supermodels (yeah, most of us I'd imagine). I constantly avoid being in pictures because of the way I look and I really should think more about the feelings that I emanate that might show through. Thank you so much for sharing this with us this past challenge over on the Path of Positivity. Thanks for the great shout out. I hope that we continue to see your lovely work in the future.
