Spreading "The Happy" - Creating Giftable Storeage From An Empty Tin

Happy Day Everyone! Today I am up on the Mixed Up Mag Blog with an in-depth tutorial showing you how I gave this empty Coffeemate tin a second life by altering it mixed media style and filling it with a gift of baking.

This is a fun process using lots of mixed media techniques and showcases this Elephant Stamps & Stencil set I received from Stampendous.  While the finished tin is rich in texture and color and lots of details it is created in only four-steps.
So why no pop on over to the Mixed Up Magazine BLOG to see all the details and lots more photos.
As always Thank YOU for popping by to see what I am to today and please do leave me a comment if you like what you are seeing!

Who Said You Can't Decorate The Frame?

Happy Stencil Sunday everyone!  For today's STAMPlorations inspirational project I am sharing how I used my ARTplorations Dragon Fly Waltz stencil, some bronze embossing paste, and some Golden acrylic gold paint to quickly alter this frame for a mixed media canvas I created.

I don't know about you, but I find it hard to frame my mixed media works, traditional framing techniques just don't look right to me along side my pieces, but I really wanted to finish off this particular project with a frame.  And as I was pondering my options a tiny voice whispered into my ear "Why not make the frame a part of the mixed media project?"  "EUREKA!" I shouted, "Who says I can't decorate the frame!!"  And that is what I did...

Now I discovered that it is very hard to take a photo of just a frame... something to do with the white balance??  So anyway here is a photo of the framed project so you can see how the frame enhanced and complimented the canvas as well as the link to an earlier TUTORIAL where I share how I created it.

Now I hope my little stencil project inspired you and if it did please consider linking up to the May Mixed Media Challenge where it is always Anything Goes Except a Card, as long as you use a stencil, Any stencil- There are prizes!

It's Stencil Sunday With Some Magnificent Mail Art

It's Stencil Sunday over at the STAMPlorations Blog and, this being the first Sunday of the month, it is also the start of a brand new Mixed Media Challenge.  Today I am showing you how you can use the ARTplorations Two Feathers mask to create lovely Mail Art in less than 10 minutes.

Now isn't this going to brighten up someones day when they get their mail?  And It is THIS quick and easy:
I used my Making Memories Envelope Punch Board to create the envelope and then using the Two Feathers mask and my foam applicator, I layered Dylusions paint in three colors, starting with the Squeezed Lemon and ending with the Bubble Gum Pink.
Ooops, and don't forget to create an opening for the address before you start applyin paint - Grin.  I used painter's tape but a removable sticky note works also.  And finally to finish it off, I added this stamped sentiment to the back from the STAMPlorations Bold Sentiments: Hashtag Authentic set.  The entire process took less than ten minutes and I just love the effect!
So that's it for this Sunday! Now if this inspired you do consider linking up to our new Mixed Media Challenge starting today over at STAMPLorations... where anything goes except a card, as long as you use any stencil.  There are prizes... Smile.

Prizes:
- $10 gift certificate to the winner voted by the Mixed Media team

Playing "Outside The Box" In My Art Journal...

Hello and Happy Friday everyone!  I am here today with my mixed media tutorial for STAMPlorations and I am sharing with you a wonderful masking technique using a stencil and some transparent glossy gel medium.  I used this technique to create this dynamic and colorful layout in my Art Journal.
Deceptively complicated looking, this page uses only one stencil, one mask and has just five steps and all the details of my process are over on the STAMPlorations blog ... so if you are interested in this process come on over and have a peek.
Come on... You know you want to! Grin  Just CLICK HERE to find out how I created this....

As always thanks for popping in to see what I am up to and do leave me a comment if you like what our are seeing!
